Yobe APC Disowns Consensus Assembly Candidates List
By Muhammad Maitela, Damaturu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has distanced itself from what it described as a “misleading and concocted” list of purported consensus candidates for the State House of Assembly elections.
It urged all party members and supporters to disregard the unauthorized publication.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Hajiya Sa’adatu Maina, the Press Secretary to the Yobe State APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammadu Gadaka on Friday, the party leadership said that the list being circulated on social media did not emanate from it.
The APC said that the list was the handiwork of mischief makers bent on creating confusion among aspirants and supporters ahead of the party primaries.
According to the Yobe APC, consultations and discussions on consensus arrangements across the state are still ongoing in a peaceful, inclusive, and transparent manner.
It assured that where the consultations fail to produce a mutually acceptable outcome, all aspirants would participate in a free, fair, and transparent primary elections.
The party therefore called on its supporters to remain calm, law-abiding, and vigilant against misinformation, assuring that the authentic list of candidates would be officially announced through the appropriate party channels at the right time.
