Once regarded as one of the most neglected facilities in Kebbi state, the Central Motor Park in the state capital has long been a cause of disappointment for the people of the state.

Over the years, numerous essential infrastructures have suffered from neglect under previous administrations, with the Motor Park being a prime example of this oversight.

As a gateway and a crucial entry point into the state, first impressions matter. Upon arrival, visitors gauge their experience from the condition of the Motor Park. Unfortunately, its dilapidated state contributed to a negative perception of Kebbi. As soon as they stepped into the motor park and see the total decay there in, visitors usually dismiss the state as backward and underdeveloped. Painful as that conclusion could be, the fact is it’s true.

For decades, people of the state have had to live with such negative appellations on end.

However, things have changed. Since assuming office in May 2023, Governor Dr. Nasir Idris has made it a priority to deliver on his campaign commitments to the citizens, and revitalizing the Central Motor Park was high on his agenda. The condition was so dire that a complete overhaul was necessary, leading to the demolition of existing structures and paving the way for new construction.

Dr Nasir Idris is today credited with performing a class action with the determination which saw to the successful completion of the state secretariat complex, which had languished for 12 years. He applied the same determination and strategic thinking to the Central Motor Park project, prioritizing its redevelopment.

With an investment of N2.9 billion, this project is one that the opposition would prefer to disregard, as it represents a significant improvement that effectively eliminates any potential political maneuvering against the current administration.

Today, the newly constructed Motor Park stands as one of the finest in Nigeria, poised to contribute positively to the economic landscape of the state. This development is indeed a win for Kebbi and its residents.

Dr. Nasir Idris continues to drive Kebbi forward, ensuring it receives the growth and recognition it rightfully deserves.
